HOW MANY THIEVES WERE HANGING ON THE CROSS SYMBOLICALLY???

We know from the scriptures that there were 3 men hanging on the cross one of which was Jesus Himself. We also know that there were 2 physical thieves which hung there with Him. One of those thieves repented and was given a promise of meeting with Jesus in paradise that very day and the other one never repented and was doomed for an eternity in hell. Let us surmise prematurely for a moment and look at those 3 men hanging on that cross. We know as we have said before that 2 of them were known physical thieves and that is the reason they were being hung on that cross. We know though that the 3rd man on that cross or Jesus never stole one thing physically and never could. But when we begin to look at those 3 men spiritually and symbolically the story takes on a brand new meaning. Jesus spiritually even compared Himself to being as a thief. He said in Revelations 16:15 "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Jesus knew when He came for His saints because of their becoming pure as a result of getting cleansed from their sins He would come "as" a thief thus stealing their very souls from the Enemy. The one thief who repented symbolically represents the Bride of Christ. The other thief who did not repent represents the Body of Satan. Jesus represents the true Body of Christ which the Bride of Christ becomes One with when sin has been removed from their lives. Jesus and the Bride of Christ become One in the Spirit of God when there is no longer any sin involved. 1 Cor. 6:17 says "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." There never has been any sin in the Body of Christ and there never will be. When Jesus forgave the one thief of his sins and promised him a position in paradise with Him that very day, all sin was removed from that thief's life making Him qualified to meet the Master. When Jesus and the thief who repented became One in the Spirit, that left only 2 thieves on the cross spiritually. Satan and his body and Jesus and His Body. The one thief ( Satan ) came to rob, steal and destroy and the other thief ( Jesus ) came to provide eternal life for those that are His. All of us have to go to the cross spiritually and hang there with Christ until all sin is gone from our lives. We have to die to our flesh ( Carnal Mind -Romans 8:6 & 7 ) in order to live eternally with Christ. Only Jesus can allow this to happen. We have to get it right with Him before eternal life becomes a reality. May God richly bless each of you who read this little article.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."
